these aren’t your greengrocer’s tomatoes.
Our story
When our son was a toddler we had a shared vision of having an organic orchard, which was abit of a standing joke between my greenthumbed husband and my airplant killing self, but never one that we thought would amount to anything with the price of land and our budget.
In 2020 when the world as we knew it came to a screeching halt, we put an offer in on some very rural land - not really having any idea of what we were upto.
June of 2021 we broke ground on what was to become our new home, and the planned home of an organic flower and produce farm, or so we thought!
Anyone who has built can fill your ears with tales of all the things that can go wrong, we thought we’d be different, boy were we wrong.
Fast forward through 2 years of continual rain and a cyclone that decimated our region, we gave up on our exposed property in the foothills of the Kaweka ranges and started looking for a new place to plant our roots.
Then in early 2024 we found an amazing 6ha property that was the property of our dreams, it came with a truffiere and the cherry on the top, a gorgeous wee waterfall and Waterfall Organics was born.
Our hope is to make beautiful organic produce and truffles available to everyone in a way that doesnt cost the earth.
Grown with care
We select our seed stock with care and use heirloom/heritage varieties. While not yet organic certified, we are in conversion to and use organic/spray free growing methods.
We are MPI National Programme 1 Certified.
